| Applications | 1. Aquaculture: Used to ensure removal of ammonium in fish farming, fish aquaria and in fish transport. Natural Zeolite are good adsorbents for ammonium ions and adsorb them considerably more than some ion exchange resins.2. Agriculture and Horticulture: Natural Zeolite properly applied to field soils not only control high nitrogen levels, but also can have a significant impact upon reduce water pollution caused by field run off. Natural Zeoliteapplication to soil may be expected to do the following: Act as a slow release mechanism of potassium and ammonium in a soil system, Reduce the chance of ammonium toxicity by way of its cation exchange capacity avoiding root burning, Improve the retention of ammonium, thus reducing the loss of nitrogen contained in fertilizer, such losses often occur by leaching and subsequent run off resulting from heavy rainfall or excessive irrigation.3.Feed Additive: The feed industry uses Natural Zeolite to greatly improve the dispersion of the ration ingredients by reducing agglomeration.
4.Water Treatment: As an example of selective cation removal, cesium can be captured from industrial water effluent by passing the effluent through a Natural Zeolite filter column. The efficiency of cesium removal is dependent upon many factors including the relative concentrations in the effluent of other competing cations. 5.Odor Control: The ability of Natural Zeolite to absorb certain gases readily lends them to odor control applications. 6.Ion Exchange: The highly selective cation exchange capacity make Natural Zeolite especially beneficial in controlling specific cation levels in water system, agriculture and many other areas. 7.Gas Adsorption: The ability of Natural Zeolite to adsorb many gases on a selective basis is in part determined by the size of channels ranging from 2.5 to 5.0 angstroms in diameter. Natural Zeolite act as a molecular gas sieve and selectively adsorb such gases as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, stream oxygen, nitrogen and others. 8.Industrial Gas Separation: The potential uses of Natural Zeolite in many industries for selected removal of gases from composite gaseous mixtures is seemingly endless. |
